The first short straight-section of the accelerator, which contains a main quadrupole magnet and corrector magnets is assembled and successfully passes its first tests.

Eight hundred supports for the large 32-tonne LHC main magnets are delivered from India. An Observer state since December 2002, India is one of the non-Member States that contributes to the LHC project.
