NOVEMBER
After its assembly in August, the larger of the two Cherenkov detectors for LHCb is transported and lowered into the cavern. This structure is about 7 metres high, 10 metres long, 2.5 metres wide and is formed of 28 mirrors made of thin glass.
DECEMBER
A complete sector of the LHC cryogenic distribution line, more than 3 kilometres long, is brought into service.
