The first LHC elements, financed by the special contribution of the United States, cross the Atlantic and are delivered to CERN.
MARCH
The first of the short straight-sections of the LHC successfully pass a test at full intensity. Four hundred and twenty short straight-sections, containing, among others, quadrupole magnets, will focus the beams.
